Lately, I’ve been all about lipsticks and lip liners! I’ve been raving about Artistry Lip Colours since I got some in the mail. When it comes to certain lipsticks, they tend to dry out my lips and make them feel chapped. Artistry lip colours do just the opposite. They keep my lips hydrated and the color is so long lasting. I decided to do another make up post for asian women because of the increasing e-mails and feedback about having more make up tips for asian women!
- Look for foundations and concealers that have a yellow undertone. Since, most asians have yellow undertones, this will ensure that your foundation will look natural.
- When filling in eyebrows, use a medium to dark brown eyeliner/eyeshadow for natural looking brows.
- When choosing eyeliners, use colors like soft black, navy, plum, brown and dark grey. Avoid applying eyeliner on the lower waterline (this will make your eyes look smaller). Instead, apply it to your upper lashline and wing it at the end to accentuate your exotic eye shape.
- Use blushes that are soft pink, peach, or light coral in color.
- When choosing lip colors or lip glosses, look for colors in soft pinks, mauves, deep red, and berries.

My How To’s - Simple Smokey Neutrals Look Part 2
April 30, 2008I decided to do two tutorials featuring the Rimmel eyeshadow palette from this post. This smokey neutral look is spiced up just a tad bit, enjoy!
1) After applying an eyeshadow base to the eyelid, passed the crease, and up to the browbone, apply a light bronze eyeshadow on the lid and passed the inner crease.
2) Use a deep reddish bronze eyeshadow and apply it to the outer crease up to the browbone. I also applied Artistry Eyeshadow in Espresso to darken up the deep reddish bronze eyeshadow.
3) Because I love black eyeshadow for depth + an even smokey look, I apply Artistry eyeshadow in Black Tie on just the outer crease. For a highlight color, I used a light beige eyeshadow on the browbone.
4) For a pop of color, I use Milani liquid eyeliner in Gold on the upper lashline.
5) Apply a brown eyeliner on the lower lashline 1/3 of the way. Set the liner with the deep reddish bronze eyeshadow on top. For the inner side, apply the an eyeshadow base and then, a light beige eyeshadow on top. Lastly, apply a few coats of black mascara on both the lower and upper lashes.
Voila, a kicked up BUT simple smokey neutral look!
My How To’s - Simple Smokey Neutrals Look Part 1
April 27, 2008I was inspired to do a smokey neutrals look with my new Rimmel Color Eyeshadow Quad in Smokey Brun. Here’s one of the looks I came up with:
1) Apply an eyeshadow base first before putting on any of the eyeshadows. Use a deep reddish bronze eyeshadow on the lid up to the crease.
2) Apply a light bronze eyeshadow on the crease up to the browbone. Use a light beige eyeshadow on the browbone for the highlight color.
3) On the lashline, apply a brown eyeliner 1/3 of the way. To set the eyeliner, use a smudge brush and apply the deep reddish bronze eyeshadow. For the inner side, apply the an eyeshadow base and then, a light beige eyeshadow on top.
4) Finish off this look with a few coats of black mascara on the top and bottom lashes.
